Alicia Raimundo

Alicia Raimundo calls herself an intentional mental-health superhero and tells people how they might be an accidental superhero and not even know it.

An advocate from the age of 13, she has spoken out about her experience with suicide and depression. She volunteers at numerous mental-health organizations from research teams such as Mobilizing Minds, to front-line services such as Grand River Hospital in-patient services.

Currently, she is is involved in 10 different mental-health organizations that centre around young people finding help. She is passionate about improving the state of mental-health care for the youth demographic and is well aware of the issues faced when seeking treatment from the ages of 16 to 30.

She recently gave a talk at Tedxwaterloo, has appeared on Canada AM, MTV, and Rogers TV. Her favourite projects include igetreal.ca, Talk to Youth Lately, and Stand Up for Mental Health. She hopes to affect positive change and change perspectives on mental health as well as the capabilities of young people.
